Opportunity Description

Application is open for the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Scholarship for students in developing countries to study Sustainable Renewable Energy Technologies (SuRE) Master Program. Applicants can apply to study for their master’s degree program via the DAAD Scholarship at the University of Oldenburg in Germany.

MSc in SuRE is on the fundamentals of renewable energy and is designed for engineers and scientists intending to pursue a professional career in this field. To apply for this program, students should hold a 6-semester (180 CP) bachelor’s degree in engineering or science to get admission. Moreover, students should provide some professional experience in the field of energy.

The European Master in Renewable Energy (EUREC) aims to bridge the gap between industry demand for specialized renewable energy (RE) expertise and the available skillset in the job market. Developed by the EUREC Agency and eight top European universities renowned for their excellence in teaching RE technology, this high-level Master’s program addresses this demand.

By applying to SuRE, students will study the applications and theory of renewable energy systems, visit companies and sites, test their skills in labs and outdoor experiments, and do external training in industry or research institutes. The program ends with a thesis project.

The 16-month program consists of three semesters:

  1. Core Semester: This semester offers a comprehensive understanding of key renewable energy technologies and related socio-economic issues. Courses are available in French, English, or Spanish.
  2. Specialization Semester: Focuses on technologies such as wind energy, photovoltaics, hybrid systems, grid integration, and solar thermal with renewable storage. For the latest list of specializations, visit www.master.eurec.be.
  3. Practical Experience: In the final six months, students undertake a project in a company or research center to gain hands-on experience. They present their project results in Brussels in December.
