Job requirements:

Qualifications and experience:

Essential:

  • At least a Bachelor degree holder.
  • Three years of experience working in education projects and capacity building.
  • Ability to work in a complex environment
  • sound Interpersonal and Communication skills
  • Computer literacy, knowledge, and experience of working with Ms. Excel, word, Powerpoint and
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Understanding of monitoring and evaluation
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with traits such as patience, tact, and diplomacy
  • The capacity and enthusiasm to be extremely flexible and helpful in hard and sometimes insecure working conditions.
    Verbal and written language skills in English and local language(s)
    Ability to multi-task, willingness and ability to work efficiently with a diverse group of people
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and in a fast-growing program environment.

Desirable:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills & problem-solving skills
Experience or knowledge of working and living in related regions/contexts.
Experience in holding training.

Knowledge of the local languages in the assigned area will be an advantage.
Proficient in report writing and documentation.

Job Description:

Incumbents’ role:

The Project Assistant assists with the implementation of activities of the project; performs tasks in support of project development and execution, and provides administrative support to the project management processes.

Key areas of accountability:

These include:

Regarding lessons and determining teachers’ and Shuras’ strengths and weaknesses.
Offering feedback, advice, and individual training sessions for teachers and Shuras.
Conducting workshops, training sessions for teachers, and Shuras.
Cooperating with teachers and other staff to cultivate improved curricula, lesson plans, assessments, and classroom management methods.

Overseeing classes to evaluate progress once teachers have completed their training.
Overseeing classroom activities, taking notes, and producing reports relevant to the project management team.
Devising new strategies and plans for an improved learning experience.
Establishing teacher networks and motivating teachers to share their resources and knowledge.
Actively participating in ToTs.
Supporting teachers in preparing the teaching and other plans pertinent to school management.
Contributing to the development of training materials for teachers, Shuar’s, and school management.
