About IERI Internship Program

Applications have opened for the International Environmental Research Institute (IERI) international internship program. The IERI Internship Program offers scholars and recent graduates a practical opportunity in Environmental Research fields related to climate change. Meanwhile, having focused on empowering students and researchers, in particular from developing countries, the internship is organized by IERI in collaboration with the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST).

Who are eligible?

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • To qualify for an internship, candidates must:
  • Be currently pursuing postgraduate studies (master/doctoral degree or equivalent), or is in the final year of the university (bachelor degree or equivalent) ideally in the fields of environment, energy, climate changes, or relevant fields
  • Have been engaged or be recently engaged in a field directly related to the IERI Fund’s work or non-student applicants will be accepted only under exceptional circumstances
  • Have a superb command of English
  • Possess appropriate skills of using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, etc.

Interns’ responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Director of IERI and the supervision manager, the officer of the director, the interns ought to complete the following tasks:

  • Provide general support to the officer of the Director
  • Undertake the assigned tasks under the assigned laboratory
  • Submit a complete final report after the internship program
  • Deliver a presentation at the end of the internship program period
  • The organization especially encourages qualifying women and men, particularly, nationals of developing countries, with diverse professional, academic, and cultural backgrounds to apply.

IERI checks the documents you submit with the issuing institutions and makes the selection decision upon the results of the application evaluation and authenticity of the documents and other requirements.
