Job Description:

Job Summary

The Afghanistan Program of UN-HABITAT’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific is looking for 40 surveyors who will be based at the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific of the Regional Programmes Division in Kabul, Afghanistan. Eligible applicants can read the details below and apply accordingly.

The position holder reports to the Head of Department of Returnee and Repatriation, and MIS Officer and Team leader under SHURA program, Kabul Afghanistan.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Make the beneficiaries know two days earlier to inform them about the household survey and find the registered families’ specific addresses.
  • Visit the families at their location and collect the biometric data of each member of the household/family.
  • Collect the required data by filling-up the questionnaire according to the responses of the family members.
  • Upload the data in the system on a daily basis.
  • Report their result and progress to the community mobilization team and information management system every day.

Expected outcome:

  • To assist UN-Habitat in household data collection and vulnerability assessment under SHURA Programme in Kabul province.

Qualifications and requirements

Education:

  • At least High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 

  •  At least 2 years’ experience in general office support or related area is preferable.

Language:

  • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English is mandatory. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is a benefit. Knowledge of the local language of the duty station (Dari/Pashto) is also required.
