Job summary
International Medical Corps (IMC) is looking to hire 8 Gender-based Violence (GBV) Counsellors for Sarr-e-pol and Faryab provinces. Eligible candidates can read the details and apply if they are looking for job, or they can share it with their friends.
Job Description:
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES are as follows:
- Provide information on and increase awareness in the community and of female beneficiaries on GBV and the referral pathway.
- Deliver GBV case management and individual emotional support counseling and guidance to GBV survivors and other at-risk groups.
- Provide referrals for clients in need of additional specific mental health support, legal and safety and shelter.
- Contribute to the analysis of GBV caseload reported, so as to provide feedback on needs and gaps to community mobilizers and to the protection officers.
- Work actively with the female community mobilizers to promote community members’ understanding on GBV and IMC services available within the WGSS.
- Train the female community focal points, female community mobilizers on the GBV referral pathway and provide basic GBV training to field teams when necessary.
- Participate in capacity-building training.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports to the Protection Officers Job Requirements
Job requirements
Education:
- Graduates from a well-known university in the field of social work or psychology, recognized by MoPH on counseling.
Experience:
- 2- 4 years’ experience in the field of gender-based violence, case management or social activity preferably with another INGO, NGO or Community-Based Organization.
- Experience working with women and girls.
- Strong negotiation skills are essential and experience in conflict resolution is desirable.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Personal qualities:
- A good team performer in big teams and promotes teamwork, empathetic and displays commitment to preventing Gender-Based Violence.
