Opportunity Description

If you are a national of a developing country with professional experience willing to pursue your education and develop your skills in a development-related topic, apply for Belgium’s fully-funded master scholarship and training program at Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

The scholarship is offered for master’s degree and training courses/internship scholarships with full coverage of expenses for students from any developing country who meet the requirements of this scholarship.

Academic year: 2021-2022

Duration of scholarship:

  • Master degree: 1 year
  • Training courses: 4-6 months

Number of scholarships: 150 for the master’s degree and 70 for training courses

Host Institution: Higher Education Institutions of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (ARES).

Application deadlines: January 15 (for some training courses) and February 5, 2021 (at the latest).

Scholarship benefits for master degree:

The scholarship is covering the following expenses:

  • One round-trip International Travel cost (economy class) annually
  • Yearly living allowance of 1150 Euro
  • Indirect mission fees about 150 euro
  • Installation, teaching and return fees
  • Registration fees of 700 Euro
  • Insurance
  • Interuniversity training traveling costs

Scholarship benefits for training courses:

The scholarship is covering the following expenses:

  • A round-trip International Travel cost (economy class)
  • Monthly living allowance of 1400 Euro for the duration of 6 months, but one to three-week training will be paid 83 Euros/day.
  • Indirect mission fees about 150 euro
  • Insurance
  • Interuniversity training traveling cost (to justify)

Who can apply?

Applicants who meet the following requirements:

  • Have the nationality of a developing country
  • Be under the age of 40 for a master degree and under 45 for training courses
  • Hold a diploma equivalent to a graduate-level diploma in Belgian universities.
  • Possess two to three years of related professional experience after graduate studies.
  • Be proficient in spoken and written French. Applicants of Courses held in other languages should have proper knowledge of the medium language(s) of the courses.
  • Apply only for one training course.
