Sometimes we face difficulties in collecting data, or make new questions, or how to understand or translate 1000 books or confusing which tools, methods, or sources we can use to find the right answer. This course is created to teach us how to organize when we are performing research from a library, museum, archives, and will be familiar with new methods and tools to make it easy.

Course Syllabus:

  • 1st lesson: Digital Humanities and Data
    in the first lesson will learn about the digital humanities term and how to use it across humanities disciplines, cooperation between researchers and data collections and staff, digital humanities classifications, data formats, and apply them in the research workflow.
  • 2nd Lesson: Digital Humanities Projects and Tools
    In the second lesson, applicants will learn about digital humanity’s practical projects and tools applied in any language, space, networks, images, and statistics analysis.
  • 3rd Lesson: Acquiring, Cleaning, and Creating Data
    In the third week, the lesson focus is on data structures, types, sharing, and downloading.
  • 4th Lesson: The Command Line
    The lecture focus will be work function, text/file creation through digital humanities.
  • 5th Lesson: Working with Tools – Voyant
    In this last week, the lesson focus will be on different text creations via the usage of Voyant and result comprising through Voyant visualization.
