Introduction to Erupt

The applications for 2020 Erupt! Prize is now open. It is a global competition that provides a platform for artists, innovators, creatives, painters, musicians, and all those who have innovative work for the Erupt themes to submit their work from any group and any part of the world and win its prize. The theme for Erupt 2020 competition is “What about me?” a call to bring the plight of invisible children worldwide to light by:

• Starting a conversation through art
• Discussing the issues at hand
• Making direct contributions to grassroots impact

Categories of the competition

There are four categories in Erupt! 2020 namely Literature, Visual, Performance, or Audio.

1. Under literature, acceptable forms of submissions are Stories, short stories, written poems, and more.
2. In Visual category, acceptable forms of submissions are videos, paintings, drawings, and more.
3. Under Performance, acceptable forms of submissions are dance, anything making body movements, and more.
4. Under Audio, acceptable forms of submissions are music, spoken word, performed poetry, and more.

Eligibility

• OPEN TO ALL: All ages are welcome to apply to its program.
• Artistic and creative entries are welcome for the Erupt! 2020 Social Change Art Competition from any nationality and age group.

How to make a submission?

In order to submit your application for this competition, consider the following steps.

1. First, each Participant must pay a registration fee of $10 which goes fully to the Sponsorship of programs and projects serving children on the streets.
2. Second, specify and enter into any one of the above-mentioned categories in which contestants compete against others in their own categories.

3. Third, make your submission. Please download the Erupt mobile App on either the Android or IOS App stores to enable your submission. Applicants are limited to two entries or submissions! Video & audio submissions must be uploaded to a video or audio sharing platform (Youtube, SoundCloud) and must be at most 3 minutes.
Also, word-based pieces should have a max word count of 1,000 (more specific details on the criteria of the submission categories are available here).
