Benefits

Who are eligible?

  • This fellowship is open to any young person under 30 years of age who is keen to learn more about the Korean War, the US-North Korea crisis, and the Korean peace process from a movement-driven, feminist, and anti-militarist perspective.
  • Applicants do not need to be a seasoned activist or expert on Korea.
  • Aspiring organizers with a commitment to social justice, future peacebuilders in pursuit of a new approach to US foreign policy, and passionate proponents of an end to the Korean War are especially welcome to apply.
  • As the 2021 cohort of fellowship will take place virtually, fellows can join from anywhere. However, fellows must be allowed to work in the United States for the duration of the program.

What does the fellowship offer?

  • For the duration of the fellowship, fellows will participate in a series of monthly educational workshops that explore the impact of the current Korean War, including the existing nuclear conflict and the history of women’s peacebuilding in Korea.
  • Fellows will also get the chance to develop activism skills through capacity-building workshops on grassroots and feminist organizing, Congressional advocacy, and media training.
  • Participants will explore how to write a letter to the editor, publish a blog post, and become an effective advocate for Korea peace during our virtual Advocacy Days.
