The Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS) at Georgetown University, United States is accepting applications for the Global Human Development (GHD) Program 2021 edition from international applicants. The Global Human Development Program aims to prepare students by providing them with coursework, internships, extra-curricular activity, and practical fieldwork opportunities – to realize the challenges of international development and explore the tools to address those challenges as successful experts.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for GHD Program, International applicants should fulfill the following requirements:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree.
  • Have completed courses in introductory macro- and microeconomics and statistics (must be completed before enrollment in August, not necessarily before the application).
  • Be able to work effectively in English and one other language (students must pass an oral proficiency exam before graduation, indicating that they will be reasonably proficient in one foreign language before beginning the program).
  • Possess at least 1-2 years of full-time work experience.
  • A Post-undergraduate degree is strongly welcome.
  • Experience living, studying, and working outside of the United States is strongly encouraged.
  • Applicants holding an undergraduate degree from an institution where English was not the primary language of instruction are required to take either (TOEFL) or (IELTS). The minimum TOEFL score in IBT is 100 and for IELTS is 7.0.

    2. Where do you think you will be and what will you be doing in 2030?
  • A resume or CV
  • Official copies transcript(s) from all colleges/universities attended (in English).
  • There letters of recommendation (academic and professional)

Submitting a GRE or GMAT score is no longer required but the institution recommends the applicants to take the tests if:

  •  The undergraduate academic record is not as rigorous as other parts of the application,
  • The applicant has not yet taken substantial coursework in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and statistics (or they completed that coursework many years ago),
  • The undergraduate GPA may be hard to interpret.
  • Non-refundable $90 application fee payment.
