Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Scholarships

The Indian government has offered scholarships for different levels of studies, especially for undergraduate studies, master’s and Ph.D. studies. Students from all over the world can Apply. ICCR has offered 1000 Scholarships for Afghanistan students in the current Academic year of 2021/2022

Note: ICCR Does not offer scholarships for MBBS/BDS courses.

Benefits of this scholarship for undergraduate studies:

  • Accommodation at Hostel (hostel fee is paid to the institution)
  • Monthly Living allowance of 18,000
  • Annual Contingent grant of 5,000
  • Thesis 7000 INR
  • Tuition fee and other Compulsory fees paid to the institution
  • Expenditure on laboratory chemicals and additional related incidental charges for science and agriculture students

Note: ICCR scholarships do not cover travel costs and medical insurance. Students should cover additional classes taken by students.

Besides the eligibility conditions decided by the Ministry of higher education, the applicant meets the following criteria as well.

  • Have a good knowledge of the English language.
  • Be healthy
  • completed the 18 years.

Master and Ph.D. scholarship details:

In previous years, The master’s and Ph.D. scholarships were allocated for official governmental employees and University lecturers, but 30 % of these scholarships are offered by female applicants, whether they are government officials or not. Considering that the ministry of higher education announced the conditions, the postgraduate studies (master and PhD) are open to all and not specified for government employees only..

  • Annual Contingent grant of 7000 (for postgraduate) and 12,500 for M.Phil / PhD
  • Tuition fee and other Compulsory fees paid to the institution
  • Expenditure on laboratory chemicals and other related incidental charges for science and agriculture students
  • Thesis/dissertation expenses for M.Phil/Ph.D. 7000

Eligibility:

Interested Applicants who want to study their master or Ph.D. in India on ICCR Scholarships should meet the following criteria:

  • be proficient in the English language
  • have obtained a university degree
  • the average number should be at least 65 %
  • Have original diplomas and transcripts in the English language.
  • be under the age of 30 for a master degree and under 45 for a PhD
  • have a National Identity card (Tazkira)
  • have no criminal record
  • be healthy

  • English language exam and Online interview will be taken by the university.
  • The candidates’ acceptance and rejection will be notified to the candidates.
  • Successful applicants will receive the acceptance letter directly from the Indian embassy in Kabul
  • the English exam will not be given by the Indian embassy in Kabul.
  • The rejection of candidates is the direct decision of universities.
