About the scholarship

Montana State University (MSU) is delighted to announce the offering of merit-based scholarships to international undergraduate applicants for the academic year 2021. The MSU scholarships are awarded based on applicants’ grade point average (GPA) as well as SAT or ACT scores. The university will only apply the offered awards toward its tuition. Therefore, an international student will be automatically considered for scholarships as per their grade point average from high school when they submit their applications.

Scholarship value:

Scholarship value range from $3,000-$15,000 per year. This scholarship can be extended annually providing that the student maintains a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, retains full-time student status, and remains a non-resident student.

Eligibility criteria

• Degree-seeking and non-degree seeking international students can apply for undergraduate degrees offered by MSU.
• Students should have completed high school or secondary education or its equivalent.
• Students should have strong English knowledge and meet English language proficiency to succeed academically at MSU.

The English proficiency certificates students can demonstrate include:

• TOEFL
• IELTS
• PTE Academic
• ACT
• SAT

• Students who cannot provide English language proficiency proofs at the time of application will be conditional admission, which leads to completing the university’s intensive English program prior to beginning the academic program.
• It is notable that students who are conditionally admitted will not be awarded scholarships until they are fully admitted and meet the English Proficiency Requirement.

Notification of results

Applicants are assessed for admission when all required materials have been received at the Office of International Programs.
