Research Training Fellowship for Developing Countries Scientists (RTF-DCS)

Federation of India Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India is funding the  Research Training Fellowship for Developing Countries Scientists (RTF-DCS).

If you are a young researcher / scientist from developing countries other than India and interested to work in an Indian research/academic institution you can apply to RTF-DCS fellowship program. The fellowship is offered for capacity building of the fellows working in the field of science and technology and to strengthen the relations between India and fellows country of origin.

 

Program objectives:

  • Capacity building and advancing the research capabilities of young researchers
  • Promotion of scientists and researchers mobility
  • Providing the facility to exchange the information, contacts, build network for research collaboration

Details:

 

Number of fellowships: 60 each year

Duration: 6 months

Research field:

All disciplines of natural science and engineering science including mathematics and statistics.

Benefits:

  • Round trip flight ticket economy class
  • Monthly fellowship of Rs. 50.000 for duration of the fellowship to cover the accommodation, meals and other expenses
  • One-time research contingency grant of INR 30000 for chemicals, transfer from airport and local trips
  • One time INR 20,000

Who can apply?

  • Be a citizen of a developing country except India
  • Have a master degree in Natural science or an equivalent degree in Technology/ Engineering, Medicine/ Allied Disciplines
  • Not be over 45 years old
  • Be a PhD pursuing student or working in national R&D or academic institution in his/her home country
  • Previously awarded fellows can not apply

Required documents:

  • Passport
  • endorsement from present employer, duly filled in and signed with applicant signature
  • Copy of letter/ email from any Indian scientist/institution accepting you to work with them
