SWB Berlin gGmbH offers Berlin Scholarships for talented young people to support them achieve a university degree or apprenticeship in Berlin, Germany.
Young people who are socially committed and have voluntary work experience can apply to SWB Berlin Scholarship. These scholarships help the youth having a financially disadvantaged family background to study their bachelor’s or Masters degree in Berlin and Potsdam and use the skills they acquire during their studies in Germany to promote long-term non-profit projects in their home countries to improve the live conditions there.

Scholarship benefits:
SWB offers fully funded scholarships covering the following expenses:
- Full tuition fees
- Accommodation
- Monthly allowance for living expenses
These Scholarships are awarded for students from the following regions:
- Eastern Europe
- South America
- Asia
- Africa

Who can apply to SWB Berlin Scholarship?
Applicants who meets one the following groups can apply:
- Foreign nationals, whose home countries appear to have a particular need for development
assistance1 - Homeless foreigners
- Recognised refugees2
- Holders of a settlement permit
- Holders of an EU long-term residence permit
- Holders of a residence permit in accordance with §§ 22, 23 para. 1 or 2, §§ 23a, 25 para. 1
or 2 of the Residence Act (AufenthG) in case of permanent residence in Germany - Holders of a residence permit in accordance with § 25 para. 3, para. 4 sentence 2, or para.
5 of the Residence Act (AufenthG) in case of permanent residence in Germany - Students from EU and EEA countries who have already worked in Germany in an activity
related to their studies, before taking up their studies - Students from EU/EEA countries with permanent right of residence as defined by the
Freedom of Movement Act (Freizügigkeitsgesetz EU)
Note: Students already have their studies funded by another scholars are not eligible to apply.
Requirements:
- be between the 18 and 30 years old
- Hold an average grades correspond with a German grade point average of at least 2.0
- have not stayed in Germany for more than 18 months before the application
- Be intended to work in their country of origin for at least 19 months after graduation.
- Be able to prove a relatively low net income.

- Motivation letter (one or two pages long
- Current CV
- highest School or university certificate and transcripts
- information about net household income
If available:
- qualification for university entrance
- University admission in Potsdam or Berlin where you intend to study or already studying
- internationally recognized certificate of language
- all previous work, training, apprenticeship and internship certificates and references
- all university certificates and achievement records
recommended documents:
- one or two recommendation letters from professors, employers, schoolteachers …
- evidence of the net household income

Selected applicants will need to attend an online interview and elaborate their non-profit project.
