Opportunity Description

Course introduction:

The Hague Academy for Local Governance in the Netherlands offers a specially designed course on “Inclusive Service Delivery and the SDGs” to help professionals and staff of different public service institutions at the local governance level gain a thorough understanding of effective public service delivery and also enhance their capacity in the area.

Why this course?

Local public services like waste management, water access, and social services have a massive impact on our daily lives and welfare. Nevertheless, in many countries, the poor often do not have adequate access to these basic services, but local governments can play a vital role in providing access and making a difference. Hence, this course discusses the issue of local government’s’ involvement in local service delivery.

On the other hand, The Sustainable Development Goals will provide a significant starting point for discussion and knowledge sharing.  This course will address Goal 5 (Gender); 6th Goal (Clean water and sanitation); Goal 8 (Decent work and economic growth); 10th Goal (Reduced inequalities); and Goal 16 (Peace, justice, and strong institutions).
