Format of the competition

The #SumItUp competition calls youth to share their creativity and use their genuine voice to deliver a distinctive visual representation of what happened in each of the #Youth4ClimateLive Series episodes. The competition will unfold in three phases:

1st Phase: Episode 1 – 3

2nd Phase: Episode 4 – 6

3rd Phase: Episode 7 – 9

Each sum-up should share key takeaways from each of the three episodes within the competition phase rather than an overall summary.

The clarity for visual representation

A visual representation intends to transfer an idea or concept through photographs, numbers, and other visible components, with as little text or sound as possible. Text is permitted but only use what’s necessary and with creativity as well – you can use poetry, alliteration, and rhymes to help draw people in!

Though submissions should be centered on visual content, this can be in several forms, including but not limited to: infographics, drawings, mind maps, simple animations, and silent videos.

What Format & Technology Specifics should you consider in your submission?

  • If you make infographics, photos, or other digital art, please submit each page (if more than one) of your content as a high-resolution file (at least 2048 by 2048 pixels) saved as a .jpeg or .png
  • Videos should not lengthier than 2 minutes with the following tech particulars:
  • Frame rate: 23.98, 25, or 29.97
  • HD Resolution: 1920×1080 (horizontal) or 1080×1920 (vertical) or 1080×1080 (square)
  • Preferable file types: .mov, .mp4
  • Language of text has to be English.
  • Use your name as a file name! If you have over one image, please number them (i.e., JaneGoodall1, JaneGoodall2, JaneGoodall3)

Rules for submission

  • You must submit an original concept.
  • You must license/get the rights to use any components in your submission that are not your pure work.
