Opportunity Description

Introduction to contest

The application for the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) global photo contest is open now. Since the COVID-19 pandemic has claimed many lives worldwide and keeps impacting our economies and societies and it unexpectedly forced us into lockdown, the long time for humans under lockdown provided an opportunity to look back into the vulnerabilities of our societies and also at the need to build back better and stronger.

Moreover, the sights of nature during quarantine kept us positive and fresh, reminding us of nature beauty and strength. In this respect, promoting the biodiversity and the restoration of ecosystems have also been thought of.

Similarly, under lockdown at home, humans have witnessed fabulous images in nature and those of different animals, birds etc. So, such images are so unique and historical and share the photographs and spread the message of UNSCE with the world.

In the meantime, you have kept those scenes with your cameras and smartphones. Considering this, UNECE is inviting you to take part in this photo contest.
