Opportunity Description
Organizations or institutes of higher educatios which provides Undergraduate degree programs for Afghan students can apply to the available fund awarded by the United States embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan. The amount of fund is up to $ 1,000,000 to support the higher education of Afghan students for the complete duration of the Bachelor’s degree starting at the academic year of 2018/2019.

Who can apply for this program?
- institutions of higher education located in the following regions such as:
- Central Asia
- Indian sub-continent
- Middle East
- East Asia – Pacific
- Organizations must provide English language based UG programs with US style, co-educational or women- only.
- Individuals are not eligible to apply.
- Have Data Universal Numbering System (valid DUNS) number and NATO CAGE/NCAGE
- Have and maintain System for Award Management (SAM)
Conditions & Requirements of the program:
The applicant must adhere the following requirements:
- Have a recruitment plan for the qualified students and implement it across Afghanistan ( concentrated to females outside Kabul)
- The medium instruction language for the undergraduate program must be English with American style.
- Provide the followings:
- the list of partners for the recruitment in different provinces of Afghanistan and their roles and responsibilities
- information of scholarships to Public Affairs Sections (PAS) of the US Embassy and the recruitment , processing, and interview of the scholarship applicants with the cooperation of PAS
- Students’ success tracking plan and sharing the stories with Public Affairs Section.
- Room and board for Afghan scholars
- A policy for the scholarship to obtain the agreements of scholars before they receive the scholarships
- Mentorship program for the scholars to maintain the minimum GPA required
- Report the students’ progress timely and quarterly
- Contacting and monitoring the students at academic failure, and identifying the suitable replacement
- Provide student services: Counseling, tutoring, medical services, and etc.
- Provide a security plan for all the participants and activities including secure transportation, emergency evacuation, and etc. and include the expenses in the budget.
