Who is eligible?

Applicants who meet the following criteria are eligible for the 2026 Chinese Government Scholarship at Wuhan University:

  • Applicants must be citizens of a country other than China and in good health (physically and mentally)
  • For Master’s Programs: Bachelor’s degree holders must be under the age of 35
  • For Doctoral Programs: Master’s degree holders must be under the age of 40
  • Language Requirements:
    • Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 4 or higher (Level 5 preferred for direct major study)
    • English-taught programs: TOEFL 80+/IELTS 6.0+ or proof of English as the medium of instruction from a previous institution
    • Native English speakers are exempt from English proficiency proof
  • Cannot hold any other scholarships simultaneously
  • Applicants should also provide an overall GPA of 3.0/4.0, 3.75/5.0, or 75% or higher.

Application Procedure

Step 1: Register and submit your online application using the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System at CSC Study in China. Use Program category—type B (code for Wuhan University: 10486). Download and print the completed “Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship.” Use Firefox or Internet Explorer (11.0) (disable “compatible view mode” in IE). Refer to the attachment for detailed instructions.

Step 2: Register and submit your application using the Wuhan University Online Application System at Wuhan University Admissions. Select the Chinese Government Program as your funding source. Print the “Application Form for International Students of Wuhan University.”

Note: No changes can be made after submission.

Step 3: Applicants recommended by Wuhan University must submit a pre-admission notice and other required documents to the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System by March 15, 2026.
