Confucius Institute Scholarship in Chinese Wuhan University is a wide range of full scholarships offered in the broad categories as follows:

1. A one-semester scholarship for students who study the Chinese language

This category provides a 5-month sponsorship (Sep 2020 – Feb 2021 intake). Applicants should possess at least a minimum grade of 180 in HSK Test (Level 3), and at least 60 numbers in HSKK (Beginner Level) but with no previous study experience in China.

2. A one-academic-year scholarship for students studying Chinese language

This type offers an 11-month sponsorship, 2020 Sep term. Confucius Institute Classroom students, chines language teachers abroad, Chinese language major students and those who have done marvelously in HSK test are eligible to apply. Currently studying international students are ineligible for this category.  Applicants have to have at least a minimum grade of 210 in HSK Test (L 3), and 60 numbers in HSKK (Beginner Level).

3. Scholarship for Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Non-Chinese Speakers

This category sponsors a four-year academic study, 2020 Sep intake. Applicants need to have a high school graduation certificate and Chinese language proficiency is above HSK (Level 4) 210 points, HSKK (Intermediate level) 60 points.

4. Scholarship for Postgraduate Degree in Teaching Chinese to Foreign Language Speakers

This type also provides a two-academic-year sponsorship starting from Sep 2020 semester.  Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent), a minimum mark of 210 in HSK Test (Level 5), and a minimum number of 60 in HSKK Test (Intermediate Level). Applicant who can provide the employment contract or certification from designated working organizations is given preference.

2. b) Nov 10th, 2020 (for those beginning in Feb 2021)

Scholarship criteria

• The monthly allowance for bachelor students, one-academic-year study period and one-semester students is 2,500 CNY for each person. For Master students, the monthly allowance is 3,000 CNY/person.
• A monthly CNY 700 accommodation fee is paid per person.
• Broad medical insurance is RMB 800 for each person every year.

Eligibility requirements

• Non-Chinese citizens in good health condition can apply to this scholarship.
• The age limit is between 16 & 35 (undergraduate students should be under 25).
• (Applicant currently busy in a Chinese language teaching cannot exceed 45 years of age limit.
