One Young World has offered 5 Politicians of the Year awards to increase the engagement of young people in politics. As young people in most countries are disconnected from the political process, this award is designed to recognize the young politicians with great impact in their community and home country and highlight their work which are making a positive change in the lives of other young people.

The successful candidate will receive

• Receive an award in the summit

Who can apply to the Politician of Year Award?

The applicant or nominee must

• No citizenship restriction
• Be between the age of 18 and 35
• Have held elected or appointed office at any political level such as local, national or supranational
• Have a tangible impact on young people in their communities
• Be able to state or highlight how political participation is important to bring a positive change in a community
