Scholarship benefits:

The Silk Road Scholarship provides the following expenses:

• Coverage of tuition,
• accommodation,
• medical insurance;
• monthly stipend of 2000 RMB for Bachelor students, 2500 RMB for master students, and 3000 RMB for doctoral students.

NOTE: Funding duration is the study duration determined at the time of enrollment.

Who can apply?

• Be a citizen of a country other than China
• Have a good health situation
• Have no criminal record
• Be at between 18 to 30 years for Bachelor degree, 18-35 years for master degree and 40 or below for PhD
• Bachelor degree applicants have a high school degree, Master degree applicants should have a bachelor degree and PhD applicants should have a master’s degree.
• Have language English language proficiency, demonstrating one of the following evidence:
  • (IELTS 6, TOEFL 85)
  • Be a native Chines or English speaker
  • Taken a degree program in English
  • Chinese-taught program should have 180 HSK4 for non-medical programs and 220 for medical program
• have a strong academic background and innovative research capabilities.
• Your document must be in English or Chines

Note:

If a Chinese citizen applies for admission as a foreign student after immigration, he or she must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than four years, and within the last four years (up to April 30 of the year of admission), he or she shall have a record of living abroad for more than two years (the actual residence for nine months in a year can be calculated as one year). The calculation is based on entry and exit stamps.

How to apply:

The applicant must submit their application materials to the designated office of CSU. Non-medical document should be sent to the address below:

http://application.csu.edu.cn/member/login.do.   Choose Central University Scholarship for internation students and fill in the application form and submit it. Submit it and wait for the results about 2 weeks.

• After passing the online review, pay the Application Fee of 500 RMB (90 Dollars) and get prepare the following hard copies of documents in duplicate,

Note:

incomplete document may not be accepted, the rejected applications do not need to pay the application fee and do not need to send their documents.

Documents to mail:

• Printed and signed application forms downloaded from Chinese government scholarship and CSU international student office
• Photocopy of the passport (Over 6 months’ availability).
• Photocopy of Physical Examination Record for Foreigner. Applicants should strictly be examined as prescribed in the Record. Fill in the Record in English or Chinese. Incomplete form is regarded as invalid. The examination date shall be after January 1, 2019.
• Certificates of highest education (Notarized copy). If the applicant is to be graduated in 2019, the pre-graduation certificate issued by school is required.
• Transcripts of the highest education (Notarized copy).
• Non-criminal record with an official stamp. The issue date shall be after January 1, 2019.
• HSK4, IELTS/TOEFL, or other documents to prove your linguistic competence.
• Personal statement, must mention that they do not have financial supporter.
• Two recommendation letters from professors/associate professors with detailed contacts (Issuance date shall be after January 1, 2019).
• Study Plan of no less than 800 words.
• Published essays or any other supporting materials.
• Application fee receipt
