The Eliza Moore Fellowship is provided by Oak Spring Garden Foundation for artistic excellence to an extraordinary and early-career artist who are working to address plants, gardens or landscapes in the broad sense. Moreover, visual artists, literary artists, dancers, and musicians can take part in the fellowship. Besides, an exceptional artist who shows remarkable promise to contribute a deeper understanding of the natural world and humankind’s place in it. Furthermore, fellows will spend 2 to 4 weeks at Oak spring and will meet the foundation staff, find out the 700-acre landscape and sustainable land management, and will visit the library, including examples of botanical art.

Eligibilities:

• The fellowship is open to visual artists, literary artists, dancers and musicians
• Applicants should be early-career artists and do not register for the undergraduate program in 2021.
• The fellows who are a success for the fellowship must be independent and self-directed.
• The successful fellows are expected to show dedication to their artistic practice, connection to the natural world in their work, exceptional promise, and excellent communication skills.

Required documents:

• Update resume or CV not more than two pages.
• Artists practice statements about 200 to 300 words.
• Write about how your work is related to Oak Spring Garden Foundation’s mission. The mission is to perpetuate and share the gifts of Rachel Lambert Mellon.
• Provide five images or videos that show your interests through the art, including creation, title, dimensions, and medium.
