CEU Graduate Programs Scholarships Details

CEU offers a range of scholarships for graduate programs, including:

• CEU Master’s Excellence Scholarship: 1,000 EUR/month
• CEU Master’s Distinction Scholarship: 750 EUR/month

• CEU Master’s Partial Scholarship: 300 EUR/month

Eligibility Criteria

All candidates should fulfill these criteria before applying to the program:

Criteria for Master’s Programs:

Degree Requirement:

• Applicants must hold a bachelor’s or equivalent degree from a recognized university or higher education institution.
• Alternatively, applicants can provide documentation indicating the intention to earn a first degree before enrolling in a CEU master’s program.

Credit Requirements:

• For two-year master’s programs, a minimum of 180 ECTS credits (or equivalent) from undergraduate studies is necessary.
• For one-year master’s degree programs, a minimum of 240 ECTS credits (or equivalent) is necessary.
• In exceptional cases, candidates with a three-year bachelor’s degree (180 ECTS credits or equivalent) may get admission to one-year master’s programs.

Note: Accumulating less than 300 ECTS credits (or equivalent) in prior university studies may affect pursuing a PhD in the European Higher Education region.

Enrollment Documentation:

• Students enrolled in a CEU master’s program must not have simultaneously enrolled in another higher education institution.
• Official documentation about obtaining a leave of absence from the other university for the entire duration of studies at CEU is required.
• Admitted students must indicate enrollment status at another institution, if applicable, in the matriculation form at the beginning of their studies at CEU.

Criteria for Doctoral Programs:

Degree Requirement:

• Candidates should provide a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field from a recognized university or higher education institution.
• Alternatively, applicants can provide documentation indicating the intention to earn such a degree before enrollment in a CEU doctoral course of study.
• Holders of a five-year master’s degree are exempt from the bachelor’s degree requirement.
• The Department of Cognitive Science may consider candidates holding only a bachelor’s degree, provided it is in a field closely related to cognitive science.

Enrollment Declaration:

• Students enrolled in a CEU doctoral program must not be enrolled in other higher education institutions simultaneously.
• At the beginning of their studies at CEU, students should sign a declaration confirming their exclusive enrollment at CEU.

Language Requirements:

• The medium of instruction for all master’s, Ph.D., and non-degree programs at CEU is English.
• Applicants should prove English proficiency by submitting standardized English language test scores.
• Candidates whose first language is English are usually exempt from this language proficiency requirement.
