Applications are open for graduate programs at Central European University to study in Austria, Hungary.

Applicants who meet the admission requirements and wishing to pursue their master’s or PhD at Central European University can apply to diverse scholarships offered by this university.
Applicants applying for master’s degree can apply to CEU master’s scholarships and CEU Master’s Tuition Awards and PhD applicants are automatically considered by CEU Doctoral Scholarship.

Scholarship for Master Degree:

  • CEU Master’s Scholarships covers the following:
    • tuition fee,
    • monthly stipend and
    • health insurance
  • CEU Master’s Tuition Awards covering tuition fee up to 100%, and health insurance.

Scholarships for PhD:

  • CEU doctoral scholarships covering full cost of tuition and health insurance and providing monthly stipend to cover the housing and living expenses.

Master degree
  • Master’s degree applicants should have a first degree from a recognized university or institution of higher education. Applicants with four bachelor’s degree will be accepted to the one-year US – accredited master degree programs and three-year bachelor holders are accepted for two-year master’s degree program
  • Students enrolled in CEU must not be enrolled in another higher education simultaneously.
  • Submit standardized English language test scores to demonstrate Proficiency in the English language
  • Have a master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university or provide the document proofing that they will get a degree before enrollment in a CEU doctoral course of study.
  • In exceptional cases, the Department of Cognitive Science will also consider candidates who only hold a bachelor’s degree, provided it is in a discipline closely associated with cognitive science.
  • Not be enrolled in other institutions of higher education.
  • Submit standardized English language test scores to demonstrate Proficiency in the English language

Required documents:

  • Academic writing submission (Statement of Purpose, Research proposal, academic essay on on a given subject, writing sample, etc. differs based on the program you study.
  • Two recommendation letters from a faculty member or job supervisors. (sent online)
  • Academic degrees (transcripts and diplomas)
  • CV
  • English language proficiency test score for master degree TOEFL iBT 88, Pbt 570, IELTS academic 6.5, PTE 59, Cambridge English C2 proficiency, c1 advanced, for PhD: TOEFL 100, Pbt 600, IELTS Academic 7, PTE 76, Cambridge C2 proficiency, C1 Advanced 190
  • Standard Test Scores (GRE, GMAT, Etc – for some programs)
  • Completed Application form
