About the prize

The nomination for the 4th edition of “Our Freedom Prize 2021” is now open. Young people at the ages of 15-25 are invited from France and across the world to choose an inspiring person or organization who have had extraordinary achievement in fighting for freedom in the last three years for this prestigious “freedom prize”. The 2021 Our Freedom Prize winner can be an individual, organization, media, or unknown. Furthermore, the prize aims to increase awareness of freedom, peace, and Human rights, inspired by the values of the D-Day landings of 6 June 1944 in Normandy.

This prize is established to recognize the remarkable struggle for freedom and achievements in cherishing freedom by individuals and organizations.

Prize value

The winner of the Freedom Prize will receive 25,000 to support their fight for freedom and further expand their efforts in this respect.

Award benefits

The winner will:

  • Earn a cash prize of 25,000.
  • Attend the “Normandy Peace Forum 2021” where 22 speakers from 34 countries join the forum.
  • Gain global recognition.

Award ceremony

The award presentation ceremony will take place in Caen as part of the Normandy World Peace Forum in June 2021.


  • The prize is open to individuals or organizations throughout the world.
  • Those who have made a significant impact on or achievement in fighting for freedom, in general, can nominate themselves.


The international jury of the Freedom Prize which will meet on February 12 & 13, 2021 in Caen, France will study all the submitted proposals and then select the 3 people or organizations that will be put to the online vote from March 15 to April 25, 2021. Voters “you” can make your reasoning and vote for your favorite person or organization you have suggested. After all, as a result of the vote, one winner will be declared.
