Program overview

The Management School, College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Liverpool offers Graduate Teaching Fellowships (GTFs) to applicants worldwide with a pre-existing master or equivalent degree with sufficient research background to combine study Ph.D. while gaining teaching experience through the program. Participating in this program will help the Graduate Teaching Fellows (GTFs) secure funding for their Ph.D. research. ULMS will offer GTFs a yearly stipend of £15,285 plus a fee waive.

Program structure

  • In the first year, fellows will have to demonstrate progress in fostering their research skills, typically through taking relevant courses on select Masters’ programs.
  • Also, completion of teacher training programs offered by the University and limited teaching engagement, mainly through shadowing and mentored classroom involvement, is a requirement of the program.
  • In years two to four, fellows are required to complete a total of up to 300 hours of teaching (equivalent to 100 hours per annum), together with the doctoral research project.
