Opportunity Description

Nominations are open for the 2025 World Food Prize for a specific, exceptionally significant individual achievement in the field of food.  The World Food Prize honors remarkable individual achievements that significantly advance human development by enhancing food quantity, quality, availability, or access across the food system. These achievements span various fields, such as soil and land management, plant and animal sciences, food technology, rural development, and more.

The achievement’s impact must be evident in tangible improvements, such as reduced poverty, hunger, or suffering or enhanced health and well-being for a substantial population. It must be directly attributed to the nominee’s specific actions and initiatives.

Nominees must be alive and able to participate in the award ceremony, deliver an acceptance speech, and engage in media events and the World Food Prize Global Youth Institute.

While the prize typically goes to an individual, in exceptional cases where collaboration is essential, multiple individuals may be considered. However, each collaborator’s indispensable contribution must be demonstrated. The Selection Committee evaluates joint nominations to ensure they meet these criteria.
