The Attorney General’s Office of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, on the basis of Article 134 of the Constitution of the country, is part of the executive power and is acting in an independent manner and subject to the Provisions of Law. Investigation of crimes and litigation against the defendant in the court forms the core duties of the AGO. AGO, in accordance with the pervasive laws of the country, works to protect the rights and freedoms of Afghan citizens and respect and defend Islamic values, rights and freedoms, human dignity and human rights, which are the top priorities of the Attorney General’s Office.
