The International Development Research Centre (IDRC), a Canadian Crown corporation, finances research in developing countries to create sustainable change on a large scale. IDRC supports local organizations in the Global South to generate the evidence that is relevant in their context.

IDRC provides financial resources, advice, and training to researchers in low-income countries to help them find solutions to local problems, and encourage knowledge sharing with policymakers, researchers, and communities. Similarly, it offers awards to research communities in different places as well.
