The University of Bamberg is one the oldest and also the newest German universities in Bamberg, Germany. It specializes in the Humanities, Cultural Studies, Social Sciences, Economics, and Applied Computer Science. The University of Bamberg opened its doors for the first time in 1647, acclaiming to be this way one of the oldest universities in the state of Bavaria. However, the university had a long way to do until it reached the current form in 1979 and currently it is one of the prestigious and globally leading universities offering various degrees and courses.
