The Gates Cambridge Scholarship, which is launched in 2000, now for the 2020 and 2021 academic year, offered scholarships for talented applicants who are living out of the UK, at the University of Cambridge to pursue their Ph.D. or Master degree in different fields. The scholarship will cover the whole expenses.

Details of the Gates Cambridge Scholarship:

 

Deadline: 3 December 2019, or 7 January 2020                   Note: most of the deadline is based on your course.

Location: UK                                                                                      Number of scholarships: 80

Level of study:

full-time postgraduates such as:

  • PhD
  • MSc/MLitt
  • Or a one-year postgraduate course.

Host university: Cambridge University                    Support organization: Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

Application fee: £65 (in 14-days cancellation it will be fully refunded.)

 

Benefits of scholarship:

The scholarship is Fully Funded with additional payments like:

  • University composition fee
  • £17500 for each applicant of 12 months for the 2020 to 2021 duration
  • Traveling expenses for the beginning and end of the course.
  • Visa cost
  • Health insurance

Additional funding for discretionary basis:

  • £500 to 200 funds for academic development.
  • £ 10,120 for the applicant’s first child and £4320 for the second child, but no funding will be available for the applicant’s partner.
  • Funding for childbirth
  • Funding for unanticipated situation

Eligibilities:

  • Applicants must not be the citizen of UK
  • Applicants must have excellent academic records
  • Applicants with experiences both in academic and work
  • Must be committed to work for other lives improving and shows their past, current, and future experience
  • Have excellent leadership skills and qualifications

The following fields are not eligible for the Gates Cambridge scholarship:

  • If your undergraduate is in Ba or BA affiliated (a second BA)
  • Master of Business, Finance
  • PGCE
  • MBBChir Clinical studies
  • MD Doctor of Medicine degree (6 years, part-time).
  • Graduate course in Medicine (A101)
  • Part-time degrees and non-degree courses.

 

Require documents:

  • Academic transcript and diploma
  • Evidence of leadership skills and capacity
  • Explain your reasons for applying for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship and how you meet eligibility (in 500 words approximately).
  • For a Ph.D. degree, provide a research proposal for funding (about two pages but not limited, its depend on the course applicants selected).
  • Two recommendation letters from someone who must be able to answer the question with authority and have a good familiarity with all criteria of Gats Cambridge program. Furthermore, use examples of how applicants meet the scholarship criteria.
  • Update Curriculum Vitae or a Resume
  • Interest letter.

Note:

  • Most of the required documents will be specified based on the chosen courses.
  • The size of your documents should not be more than 2 MB.
