Job summary

Under the overall observation of the Package Manager and in coordination with the management staff in the field office, the Social Mobilizer is tasked to conduct community seasons for mobilization, sensitization, education, awareness, and social developments.

Job Description:

  • Regular meet with the community leaders, elders and resource persons;
  • Perform social and technical assessment and surveys;
  • Gather and manage data of the day-to-day operations;
  • Oversee the daily program activities;
  • Report on the regular project activities to the related activity manager;
  • Facilitate community-based training, education, and awareness;
  • Assure accurate filling system for each and every activity;
  • Support administration and finance on the preparation of the necessary files and documents;
  • Develop community profiles for the target communities;
  • Facilitate Community Development Planning;
  • Mentor and technically assist CDCs, GAs and subcommittees;
  • Immediately report failure in the project activities and his/her duties;
  • Ensure humanitarian principle and standards during daily activities;
  • Implement Do No Harm policy during the field visits;
  • Ensure proper and professional dealing with women and children;
  • Make sure children are safeguarded throughout the relevant field activities;
  • Help the community to understand vulnerabilities and priorities;
  • Support the design and developments of IECs for training;
  • Inspire and promote positive learning and social change;
  • Work with the senior team to develop a relationship with the community and mobilize them for equal gender opportunities, and social developments;
  • Create CDC/Guzar Assemblies and sub-committees;
  • Train CDC/ Guzar Assemblies and sub-committees on their ToRs;
  • Ensure proper working relationships with the CDC/ Guzar Assemblies and gender balance in the program;
  • Recording and filing all community exercises;
  • Attend reviews and evaluations;
  • Advocate for the cause of women and children in the community and society at large;
  • Identify methods of amplifying the project and educational materials that can be used;

Job Requirements

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a prominent Afghanistan’s university;
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in promoting similar groups or in implementing similar community development projects;
  • Experience with Citizen Charter is preferred;

Skills:

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with high-level precision;
  • Skills to manage a variety of competing priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • A sharp eye for detail and accuracy;
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills;
  • Display initiative with the ability to formulate ideas and solutions and present them effectively;
  • Ability to lead by example;
  • Skills and confidence to coach and mentor CDCs/GAs & deal with underperformance;
